How do I connect WordPress to TalkGenAI?

Install the free TalkGenAI plugin, generate a connection token in WordPress, and paste the token with your site URL into the TalkGenAI dashboard. Once connected, articles publish to your WordPress site as drafts, with the hero image set as the featured image.

What do I need first?

A WordPress site served over HTTPS. Plain http:// addresses are rejected.
Admin access to the WordPress site.
A TalkGenAI account and, depending on your plan, a free website slot. Each plan includes a set number of sites. See Credits and plans and the pricing page.

How do I connect with the plugin?

Install the plugin

In WordPress open Plugins, Add New, search for TalkGenAI, then install and activate it. It is also on WordPress.org.

Generate a token

In your WordPress admin go to TalkGenAI, Settings, and click Generate Connection Token. Copy the token.

Paste it in the dashboard

In the TalkGenAI dashboard open Integrations, click + Add Site, and choose Connect via Plugin (Recommended). Enter your Site URL and the Connection Token. A site name is optional. Click Connect Site.

The token expires after 10 minutes and works once. If it expired, generate a new one.

How do I connect without the plugin token?

The Application Password tab in the same dialog is the older method. In WordPress go to Users, Profile, Application Passwords, enter any name and click Add New Application Password. Then enter your site name, site URL, WordPress username and the password. Some shared hosts block application passwords, which is why the plugin token is recommended.

How do I check that it worked?

The site appears in Integrations with your site name. For an agent, list_sites (or GET /api/v1/sites) returns it with "platform": "wordpress":

Does it publish live or as a draft?

As a draft. The publish dialog says: “The article will be saved as a draft on your WordPress site. You can review and publish it from the WordPress editor.” A site can be switched to Live (publish) under Integrations, WP Post Status, and the dashboard then warns that articles go public immediately. Agents save a draft unless they pass status: "publish". See Publish safely.
