How do I connect Shopify to TalkGenAI?

Create a custom app in your Shopify admin with the read_content and write_content Admin API scopes, install it, and paste its Admin API access token (it starts with shpat_) and your store domain into TalkGenAI. Then choose the blog your articles go into. Articles are saved as unpublished by default.
The Webflow, Shopify and Wix connectors are turned on per account for now, and Shopify has seen less real-world use than WordPress and Webflow. If you do not see Shopify under Integrations, email [email protected] and ask for it to be enabled.

What do I need first?

  • A Shopify store with a blog.
  • Permission to create apps in the Shopify admin.
  • Your store’s myshopify.com domain, for example mystore.myshopify.com.

How do I do it?

1

Create the app

In your Shopify admin go to Settings, Apps and sales channels, Develop apps, and create an app.
2

Give it the scopes

Under Configuration, Admin API, allow read_content and write_content.
3

Install it and copy the token

Install the app. Under API credentials copy the Admin API access token. It starts with shpat_.
4

Paste it in TalkGenAI

In the dashboard open Integrations, find the Shopify card, click + Add Site, and enter the Store Domain and the Admin API Access Token. The store name is optional. Click Connect Store.
5

Choose the blog

Open the store’s Auto-Publish Defaults and choose the blog articles should go into.

How do I check that it worked?

The store appears under Integrations. For an agent, list_sites returns it with "platform": "shopify" and a connection_id that starts with shc_.

Does it publish live or as a draft?

As an unpublished (hidden) article by default. A connection set to publish live creates a published article. Agents save a draft unless they pass status: "publish". See Publish safely.
