How do I connect Claude Desktop to TalkGenAI?

Claude Desktop reaches remote MCP servers through the mcp-remote helper. Add TalkGenAI to claude_desktop_config.json with your agent key, restart Claude Desktop, and the TalkGenAI tools appear.

What do I need first?

An agent key (starts with tgai_). See Connect your AI agent.
Claude Desktop installed, and Node.js, because npx runs mcp-remote.

How do I do it?

Open claude_desktop_config.json and add:

Quit Claude Desktop completely and open it again.

How do I check that it worked?

Start a new chat. The tools menu lists the TalkGenAI tools. Ask: “Check my TalkGenAI credits.”

What prompt should I give Claude?

Write an article about “how to choose a CRM for a 5-person agency” with TalkGenAI. When it is finished, save it as a draft on my site and give me the edit link.

Claude saves a draft unless you ask it to publish live. See Publish safely.

What can go wrong?

Server does not start	Node.js missing	Install Node.js
Tools missing	Claude Desktop not fully restarted	Quit from the tray or menu, then reopen
`401 unauthorized`	Wrong or revoked key	Create a new key
