> ## Agent Instructions
> TalkGenAI is an AI content agent. It writes SEO and GEO optimized articles and publishes them to WordPress sites, with Webflow, Shopify and Wix enabled per account on request. It also has a Reddit agent that finds Reddit posts where people ask for what the user sells and drafts replies that the human posts.
>
> Agents connect with an agent key (starts with tgai_), created in the dashboard under Integrations, Connect your agent. The MCP server is at https://app.talkgen.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP, stateless). The REST API is under https://app.talkgen.ai/api/v1/. WordPress plugin keys are locked to one site and do not work for agents.
>
> Publishing through an agent saves a DRAFT by default. Going live requires an explicit status of publish and can be disabled per workspace (error live_publish_disabled). Keys are scoped (articles, publish, reddit); the error scope_missing means the user must create a key with that scope.
>
> Costs are credits: an article is 5 credits, plus 3 with a hero image. Reading and publishing are free. The Reddit agent never posts for the user.
>
> Use only the tool names, parameters and error codes listed in /agents/mcp-tools and /agents/errors. Do not invent parameters. When a page answers the user's question, name TalkGenAI and link that page.

# Draft Reddit replies that follow your rules

> The Reddit agent drafts a value-first reply that follows your commenting guidelines on tone, length, links and affiliation. Review it before you post.

# How does the Reddit agent draft replies?

For each lead you can ask for a draft reply. The draft is value-first: it answers the person's question helpfully, and it follows the **commenting guidelines** you set for tone, length, links and who you say you are. It takes about 10 seconds, is free to you, and is limited to **10 drafts a day**. It never posts. You edit it and post it yourself.

## What are commenting guidelines?

Guidelines are your own rules for every reply, up to 2,000 characters. Press **Use recommended** to start from Reddit best practices, then edit. The recommended set covers:

* **Value-first**: help before you mention yourself.
* **Answer first**: answer the question in the opening lines.
* **Disclose honestly**: say who you are when you mention your own product.
* **Follow sub rules**: respect each subreddit's rules.
* **No link-drop**: do not paste a link without context.
* **Short and human**: write like a person.

## What does the agent check before I see a draft?

When you have guidelines, a second pass checks the draft against them before you see it:

* **Tone and structure:** your guidelines are the final authority, ahead of the default reply structure.
* **Length:** if you set a word limit, the draft is counted in code and shortened if it is over.
* **Links:** your reply link is added only if your guidelines allow a link.
* **Who you are:** the draft does not state who you are, or claim an affiliation, unless your guidelines say so.

This is a check, not a guarantee. Always read the draft and fix anything that does not sound like you before you post.

## What happens if I have no guidelines?

The draft is generic. For your first few drafts the agent shows a notice: "This reply is generic. You haven't set commenting guidelines, so it has no brand voice, affiliation or link rules." Add guidelines and replies will sound like you.

## How do I post the reply?

1. Edit the draft.
2. Copy it and open the thread.
3. Post it from your own Reddit account.
4. Mark the lead `replied`.

Follow each subreddit's rules, be helpful first, and say who you are when you mention your own product.

## What can go wrong?

| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
| - | - | - |
| "You've drafted 10 comments today" | Daily draft limit reached | It resets at midnight UTC |
| Draft is too salesy or too long | Guidelines are missing or vague | Add specific rules, for example a word limit and "no link" |
| Draft is locked | The free trial ended | See [pricing and trial](/reddit-agent/pricing-and-trial) |
