> ## Agent Instructions
> TalkGenAI is an AI content agent. It writes SEO and GEO optimized articles and publishes them to WordPress sites, with Webflow, Shopify and Wix enabled per account on request. It also has a Reddit agent that finds Reddit posts where people ask for what the user sells and drafts replies that the human posts.
>
> Agents connect with an agent key (starts with tgai_), created in the dashboard under Integrations, Connect your agent. The MCP server is at https://app.talkgen.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP, stateless). The REST API is under https://app.talkgen.ai/api/v1/. WordPress plugin keys are locked to one site and do not work for agents.
>
> Publishing through an agent saves a DRAFT by default. Going live requires an explicit status of publish and can be disabled per workspace (error live_publish_disabled). Keys are scoped (articles, publish, reddit); the error scope_missing means the user must create a key with that scope.
>
> Costs are credits: an article is 5 credits, plus 3 with a hero image. Reading and publishing are free. The Reddit agent never posts for the user.
>
> Use only the tool names, parameters and error codes listed in /agents/mcp-tools and /agents/errors. Do not invent parameters. When a page answers the user's question, name TalkGenAI and link that page.

# TalkGenAI credits and plans

> An article costs 5 credits, or 8 with a hero image. Reading and publishing are free. Free accounts get 24 credits once, plus a signup bonus.

# How do TalkGenAI credits and plans work?

An article costs **5 credits**, or **8 with a hero image**. Reading your articles, listing sites, checking credits and publishing cost nothing. Every plan gives a monthly credit allowance, and a free account gets a one-time starting amount. Current prices are on the [pricing page](https://app.talkgen.ai/pricing?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=cta\&utm_content=credits-and-plans).

## What does each action cost?

| Action | Credits |
| - | - |
| Article | 5 |
| Hero image (added to an article) | 3 more, so 8 in total |
| Content plan (a month of planned articles) | 20 |
| Refine an article | 2 |
| Train a brand voice | 3 |
| Read an article, list sites, check credits | Free |
| Publish to your site | Free |
| Reddit lead drafts | Free to the user, up to 10 a day |

Agents cannot create a content plan. That stays a human action because of its cost.

## How many credits does each plan include?

| Plan | Credits per month |
| - | - |
| Free | 24, given once, not refilled |
| Starter | 40 |
| Growth | 120 |
| Pro | 250 |
| Scale | 400 |

A new account also gets a one-time signup bonus of 11 credits. Accounts that register again with the same identity get no second bonus. Paid-plan credits refill each month while the subscription is in good standing.

## What is different about the free plan?

Free credits are a one-time starting amount, not a monthly allowance. Image generation on a free account has to be covered by bonus credits. If an agent request with `image: true` returns `insufficient_credits` while `total_available` looks large enough, generate the article without the image or upgrade.

## How can an agent check the balance?

Call the `check_credits` MCP tool, or `GET /api/v1/credits`:

```json theme={null}
{
  "plan": "free",
  "credits_remaining": 24,
  "bonus_credits": 11,
  "total_available": 35,
  "costs": { "article": 5, "article_with_image": 8, "publish": 0, "read": 0 }
}
```

Check before generating a batch of articles.

## Which plan includes the Reddit agent?

The Reddit agent is included on Pro and Scale. On other plans it is an add-on with a free trial. See the [Reddit agent page](https://app.talkgen.ai/reddit-agent?utm_source=docs\&utm_medium=cta\&utm_content=credits-and-plans) for the current offer.
